Lottie London swaps blood for beauty

Lottie London has been accepting blood as payment for its new Lottie London x The Vampire Diaries: Love Sucks collection in response to UK blood banks experiencing a national shortage.

Statistics show that in the UK one million more blood donors are needed over the next five years to ensure patients receive the right type of blood to save and improve their lives, with a particular need for Black African, Black Caribbean and younger donors.

The Blood for Beauty campaign has run throughout October and finishes on the 31st, with make-up fans encouraged to share proof of their blood donation on Instagram and TikTok, tagging @mylottielondon and using the hashtag #BloodforBeauty.

Donors are then contacted directly by Lottie London, with details of how to receive the collection whilst supplies last.

The 7 piece Love Sucks makeup collection features transformative shimmers and glosses, deep luxurious blacks and vibrant blood reds.

The mystical range highlights the transformative nature of love with its daring colours and metamorphic blushes and lipsticks and haunting crescent moon stamp eyeliner as well as sharp as fangs liquid liner pens.

Nora Zukauskaite, Lottie London Global Marketing Director, says: “At Lottie London, we believe that beauty should not only look good and feel good, but do good, and we’re proud to be supporting the drive for blood donation nationally with the Blood for Beauty campaign. The phrase ‘beauty is more than skin deep’ has never been more accurate! The limited-edition Lottie London x The Vampire Diaries: Love Sucks collection contains everything you need to achieve a perfect beauty look, and we’re excited to see how creative our community gets this Halloween.”
